Damn, that didn't take you long to flip- the original version of this song was what, one week old when you uploaded it? I've downloaded this album one but haven't listened to it yet, so sorry but I can't compare this to the original yet.
Nice use of space though, after the 30 second mark the beat rips too (kind of similar to the reggae 'drop one' beat but with the 'one' beat kickdrum played anyway- I'm a sucker for that rhythm).
Can't say I like the timestretch one his vocals (it sounded too rough)- but that's just my own tastes. It doesn't hurt the track regardless.
I had a listen to some of your other tracks too- first thing that came to mind on listening to Distances was 'This dude must dig Pinch's "Underwater Dancehall" album'. Good taste!
