ya that forum is douchebag city. I guess MPC's attract douchebags because of how easy it is to crank out beats with the autochop and the same ol' hit the pads to the rhythm. All of the sp workarounds has made us very patient people and respect the art form and the information. Fuck that forum.

That place sucks balls. Nobody shares tips or gives friendly advice. If you ask a question they get all cocky and tell you to read the manual. I haven't been to that shithole in a number of years. There is plenty of friendly people here on the SP forums who are skilled on the MPC and will provide down to earth answers.

I never had a problem with mpc forums. I do agree with them on the "Read The Manual" as most of the questions people ask there are right in the manual. People share an assload of tips there.

Just my experience with them though

 Gotta love the drama that goes there. But there is knowledgeable posts through out that forum. Not everyone uses or has an MPC there, and some just talk out their ass with knowledge from an Amazon review.

I visit both places and MPC forums is not so different from this place. They respect the SPs and MVs there, but once in a while comes an MPC fanboy to trash anything that isn't made by Akai. Other than that, dudes be on their menstrual cycle here too.

I guess the place has changed. I haven't been there in a while, maybe it's time to revisit.

Agreed... my buddy who I make music with has an MPC 1000 and I have a 404sx. He is jealous of me b/c of how cool the 404 is. The workflow is unmatched and its so much more fun to sample on rather than spending 20 minutes doing whatever it is he does to chop shit. Though I would like an MPC b/c it is way better to sequence on.

20 min to chop on the 1K? then your friend do not have an idea how to work with it, I have the 1K and chopping there is just a snap, actually I own different MPC models and the 1K is one of my favorites, it is extremely fast and it is way portable and if you have the JJOS installed then it is a monster machine... just as powerful as the 2500... even chopping manually it wouldn't take more than 5 min...

Honestly I always found a lot good tips in there also I know a lot of cool peeps there, it is true that sometimes some peeps are rough but after spending some years in there I also understand why that happens.. lots of cats goes there asking the most stupid questions and worst is that those questions have been answered already, a lot of people do not even care about read the manual, it looks like they received it the sampler as a present and then they go there and ask "OK I have the MPC now what I need to do to be like Dre?"
I'm the kind of peep that always read the manuals, check video tutorials and stuff... so it's really annoying when somebody else ask something so basic that it is in the manual already...

^ I do agree with that to a certain degree, but there are assholes in there who just hang out in there with an elitest attitude.

sp's are the best, effects are nice, sample is nice, who cares about 16 levels or more than 1 track.... sample a good record with some good loops and program some deep drums behind it, put that vinyl sim and some comp on, not to mention all the other good effects...

sp's rock so does this forum
