SP BATTLE No. 100 - Think about it....

Post by wax inspektor »

Let's do something special guys... ?!
Tourney, video-battle, classic shit ....??? let's collect ideas.

I think it would be cool to have sort of a little price or sth. ...
Anybody willed to ask roland for some goodies?
me english sucks...

Also, I have no soundcloud or myspace or such but it would be cool to have somebody sending a mail to all his internet-sp-friends. I did that for the Roland battle and it was quit effective I think.

:?:

i think we also should wear crazy dresses while making the beat!

100 battles... Makes me proud somehow. Lurking this shit since No8; first participation was No14... *sniff*

I think the most battle beats were submitted by Kel so far... just if anyone is interested in statistics.  And I think juxt still keeps the record for like 26-28 battle beats in a row but imao Teewok get's him sooner or later.

Missing a few guys these days, but I'm greatly entertained by lot's of new dudes too.

wow battle 100 already.... i think we should do something special. it was christmas vacation in 2008 when i did my first battle (36)... *sniff*
i'm trying to think of anything to use as a prize.... i don't really own anything of value except my music stuff. i remember for battle 55 roland gave away 404 faceplates....

i will wear my sombrero/serape while making my beat!!

i would be nice to have the theme revolve around the number 100, or something...... 100 proof? a tournament would be nice.

I always wanted to have a Super Smash Bros. tournament after Wax's street fighter and MK ones... the music and sound effects are phenomenal. Someday i really want to set that up, but i'm not so internet savvy.

too bad we don't all live on the same continent... that would be cool if the winner received a record in the mail from each participant 8) 8)

Yeah... 100! I think 16 was my first time entering the arena. I'm with you guys on doing something special here. The arena is the shit like nobody's business... like outer space, on planet earth (lame, I know)... like shark-week for a whole month (a little better)... like bikini-clad warrior princesses (bavarian ones for the inspektor of course), or never-ending continues on Ikari Warriors... yeah, like that.

I like the idea of mailing the winner some miscellaneous piece of beatmaking, or SP related paraphernalia. A record would be dope... that would be pretty major. We wouldn't have to pay for the vinyl if it was out of our personal stash... just the shipping. I'm down!

also i think it would be a nice idea to send all of the beats to one person, so that on the day of the poll, they will all come up at the same time and it will be a surprise to everybody.

Yeah... that could work. The winner of battle 99 could hold onto the entries.

By the way... that quote in your sig is dope. Also feeling the new avatar. Are you going by Kel Kel now? :D

that would be funny if we flipped the factory sounds for whichever model we use, or if each person submits 10 seconds of sound for the samples used. @count, i need a new name :)

That's funny... I've been pondering the same thing lately.

Another approach to the whole 100th battle would be to revisit something from the early days... maybe re-flip the track from battle #1, or look for a thematic tie-in. I like Juxt's comment about the trend of including drum breaks. Going ninja-steez for drum chops is way more raw.

^^^ I think that would b a cool idea. Ive checked those videos from Juxt a few times and thought that shit was dope!! I think the first battle ever was "take a walk on the wild side" Lou Reed.

leaving out drum breaks sounds good to me. i've always liked the idea of having to create all the sounds you need from one song or sample, whatever it may be.

i have the record for participating in the most consecutive battles and i have the record for wins. nothing has changed because as far as im concerned, the battles didn't mean nothing since i left. How is that for "imao"?

oh yea, it was 31 battles. battles 1 - 29 plus 2 holiday battles 8)
