Re: The Beat Thang
Yeah, no volume knob, no sequencer editing, no erase button, at $1,500 usd, thats a deal breaker
Re: The Beat Thang
And people said the Op-1 was overpriced! If they woulg have dropped this like 2 o r 3 years ago it would be dope. They really missed the boat though.
Re: The Beat Thang
oh yo! The chop actually looks sick!!!!! LIke best chop on a hardware machine. I would cop one for 500 -800 on ebay.
Re: The Beat Thang
Lol ok they are really doing themselves a dis-service with their product video though. Dripping with cheese. http://www.beatthang.com/products/beat-thang.html

Re: The Beat Thang
Well I think that the non destructive chopping it is a cool thing, besides it has some sick feature like 2 SD card slots, the volume knob it is in the back of the sampler, you have a pitch and modulation rotary knobs on the sides, the lighting pads can be dimmed which is cool if you play live, etc... not too much info on the website tho but this is new and give it a couple months and a lot of cats are going to be rocking this thing... the price like I said it it's high but I'm not planning to get one, I was just showing you the video... I'm not planning to replace my 505, and besides the 505 the others samplers that I'm really interested are the MPCs but it is always cool to know a little bit about everything...

I would actually take this over any mpc any day personally. I had a 2kxl and selling it was the best thing i ever did.
Re: The Beat Thang
You mean you guys are not feeling that "Blang" button or the "Freak" button? Sps don't got those.
lol I try not to knock anyone's hustle, so good for them to be doing their thing. I'm sure they will sell a lot to high school kids at christmas time. Good looking out pairing it with the Beats By Dre's. That will really appeal to them.

Re: The Beat Thang
I think it's good they didn't rush the product out two years ago. It shows they were listening to the feedback of users and improved on the small stuff. The price is high but I'm sure we will see them in the $600-$800 range. The way the machine is setup it looks like software updates/firmware updates will be possible. Also they have the software version which emulates the hardware which is very nice, so testing new features shouldn't be too troublesome. That said it's a nice piece of kit, but it's not on my wish list.

Re: The Beat Thang
Wow. they finally released it? I honestly never thought it would happen.
Anyway a while back there was word that these things would be exclusive to Best Buy which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. They're marketing the product to Hip Hop fans and not artists.
