okay so ive been toying with this but havent posted any of my own podcasts yet but id like to do one for the forums... i know we have our compilations we put out but i'd like to throw in some new ish if possible...

as far as dialogue id love to do it in a radio format if possible... like say blank artist and possible give a lil fact about you and then go into the song or play a few songs and announce after that... ive been trying to get my girl involved cuz she has a "mic" voice or presence if that makes sense but she finds a way out of it, lol...

if anyones interested let me know... ill probably take mp3's initially followed by a line or two that you would like to mention about the song... genre doesn't matter obviously since this IS THE BEST PLACE TO EXPRESS YOURSELF, lmao... so let me know ladies and gents... peace

idk... one of my habits is explaining what i feel when im listening to the song or if the song provides me with a story to tell... when listening to a great radio dj i love the interaction some of them provide... no dickriding just personal impressions and thoughts about what they are listening to... so i want to try that...

I'd really like to hear people talking about their workstyle, influences etc... it might be cool to have the interviewer send the questions as mp3s, and the artist responding with the same (voice recording) so it would sound like the interview was in person... I would listen to that no doubt

hell yeah that'd be sweet... maybe i can work on that tonight and demo it (the question portion) with a few of you...

just some general stuff to start... to my foreign heads tho... i may have to set up some type of partnership with whoever has the most experience with different foreign language... i'd hate to speak something that could be considered death (404) lmao...

@ townie itunes would be the next step... i haven't explored the options there yet but it'd be really sweet to do... only other thing id need is artwork... im no good at photoshop or any other program... but i guess that can wait till the first one drops :D

Sounds like a good idea, all the input so far sounds good. It would be fun to have people talk about their workflow and whatnot like kel said, and then share some tracks or a mix or something. Depending on how much 1 person wants to do for a podcast you could have a whole feature... but that's if they provide enough content. I like mixing too so I'd always be down to contribute a mix on the decks, I'm sure we can find an artist within or certainly within reach of our creative circle for artwork designs, many people are down to just do it for free to get their stuff seen in one way or another.

It would be dope to include some helpful information for people and maybe have some little projects that people make beats for to sort of have a "theme" for a show here and there, who knows.. the possibilities are endless.

aight here's my demo for the podcast... only about 4 mins or so and it contains 4 questions that i'd like to start with...

if possible i'd like to get feedback from you without any music behind it cuz i figure ill make a beat to play over so that you guys get more play w/o any interruptions. the one on there is just an 8 bar loop done to satisfy my demo...

let me know what you guys think... im going to comb the music section to add another demo if possible...

im really excited about this so hopefully we can do this right and in a timely manner... the goal is to drop something at least once a month to start then maybe twice once we get rolling...

also i made a gmail account [email protected] so if u have beats to send send them there... can't promise an exact start date since im still demoing things but i will keep u updated... peace

But I'm thinking maybe it might throw it off if the interviewer's track sounds different that the artist's question track, in terms of mic quality, the room acoustics, etc. I was thinking if maybe people would just record themselves talking and make sure to answer the whole standard list of questions you would have saved for the show, but I know even myself, I would feel awkward just talking for like half an hour or however long each artist segment is. It would be great if you have someone around who you can get to ask you the questions but I know most of us wouldn't want someone else all up in our business like that.

I guess the obvious answer is the artist would send in their thing and you would try to mix both tracks so they sound as harmonious as possible, but that is just something to think about.

ETA: I was thinking about this some more and maybe it's not even such a big deal as people do telephone interviews and such and the sound quality is not the same as the inteviewer. Haha when it gets late, I overthink things .

   i totally understand and was thinking the same thing... one thing i learned from working with this cat a few years ago was that it takes an ass load of patient and persistence to get vocals to mesh well... i dont think i would've stuck with it if i didnt love mixing tracks like i do (with the exception of this demo with is pretty rough)

so maybe ill do this... just to start... limit each question to 2 min answers so that ill be able to keep pace with edits. maybe 3 mins... i think thats enough time to talk about each thing... maybe ill add a fifth questionso that you guys get about 10 to 15 mins of airtime on top of music.

as far as the backing track i can always wait on that and try in work it in after the Q/A is done... i just thought that it would kinda put me and whoever in the same room, if that makes any sense, lol. somebody chime in :D

Seems dope so far man. I dig the background track, and I think its good to have it but maybe drop its volume just a littttle bit. Good questions, maybe we could also incorporate some funny or other thought provoking questions too, you know something you don't get to hear artists talk about so much... but who knows, lots of times people don't want to answer questions like that.

Another option for doing the interview if you wanted more of a live feel would be to use Skype and record it through your computer. If people have computer mics that is...
