I got some chill feedback for it on other forums so now im working on a full lo-fi beat tape made from sampling my llquid drum & Bass record collection. What you guys think?

Thanks Groktopus . Right now i got about 4 new tracks in the same style. Liquid DnB is possibly my favorite style of EDM. Definitely a joy to sample =D.

Haha exactly. Gives it that retro futuristic vibe. One thing that drew me to using an SP is that when i heard a bunch of tracks from people who used one, it sounded like someone went back in time with their knowledge of electronic production and made some tracks with the technology available in the past... With its glitchy, synthy, but dirty crackly sounds DnB is somewhat of a perfect genre to sample since you got your sample chops, your synth bass, and your drums all in one track often times For the tape im working on though im using a lot of drum samples from Hip Hop records.

Nice one bruv! Smart reuse of "old" tunes, liquid has some ill fodder to work with. Also gives me an idea....old drum and bass records practically grow on trees here.

Thanks for the feedback KOMSAT. Liquid DnB definitely has some promising samples to use. I sometimes sample more Techy DnB for bass stabs and stuff but Liquid stood out as having more chopping potential for melodies. The tape im working on is going to feature a little of both. Calibre and LE are probably the most well known on the list. I also like stuff from artists like High Contrast, Ed Rush & Optical etc. Although ER&O are more on the techy side of things.
