Video Software
Hi I got a new cell (with hd cam, yay!) and took some more footage. more or less abstract - I want to do some video collage - part of it in rhythm - for some of my music and load it up on the utoobz. the question is - what is your programm of choice for that sort of thing. I am on mac btw. I know ableton can handle basic video, also there is imovie of course - any other recs?
Re: Video Software
After Effects is my go to for most things of that sort. BUT you can loads with Quicktime Pro (7 for editing) and my secret weapon...Quartz Composer. Both of which are free. QC comes free with OS X (probably on the install disc). And if you invest a little bit of time in it, you can make some crazy ill video effects, even stuff that's synced to audio.
Re: Video Software
i like the freedom of adobe premier pro! although it has a learning curve and sometimes things that should be simple can be complicated
Re: Video Software
alright, thanks for the recs. some amazing and amazingly expensive programs out there. I guess there is no "reaper" of the video editing world?
Re: Video Software
Windows movie maker and iMovie are both free options on each platform. Both should do what you have in mind.
Re: Video Software
not sure, never really used final cut. but from what ive seen it would be likeKOMSAT wrote:I feel most video editing software has a fairly steep learning curve/is overcomplicated. Never used Premiere though, is it beefier than Final Cut?
Also - get used to waiting for renders to finish and clear some hard drive space!
final cut:ableton as premier:pro tools
blue_lu, if you have a community television station near you they usually offer classes and sign ups to use their computers and equipment. the one i interned at was pretty cool about that stuff
