usb mic?

Is using a usb mic to record vocals worth it or should I get something better I mean I hv friends charging 20 hr for it why not spend 80-100 on a mic and record myself and do as much music as I want? Any thoughts?

Well, technically they should be able to achieve a better signal with a direct to USB mic, but practically I think u find products cheaping out (usually on the pres/DA converters rather than the mic itself)

Having said that, I totally recommend buying your own gear rather than paying for someone elses, and I'm sure there are *some* decent USB mic options if u dont wanna go all out for separate mic + preamp + interface
