yeah it definitely takes time to learn this machine. I think Madlib is an alien, because he makes crazy sounds with it.

Probably wasn't your intention, but cheers for the inspiration bro.

I've been struggling with the 303 but I see I just haven't been "putting in the time" with it, like I did on the digital side.

Groove you got sound good, and it's about time I locked myself away for a bit to just really get into it and make the 303 my bitch.

Cheers again.

I'm inspired everyday by everyone in this forum and whatever I can find on youtube/vimeo or any other video site lol. I appreciate it and trust, sometimes it's all by chance. That beat is offset-- the second portion of the sample is actually the beginning of the sequence-- for some reason I tend to find myself in those binds, but works out eventually. The 303 is powerful as shit-- we all know this, especially if we listen to artists like Dilla, Madlib and newer producers like Nick Tha 1da, Samiyam, Ras G, Teebs, Dibia$e, etc. Madlib is in a league of his own though lol.

I think I learn the most by sitting and trying to break down what effects Madlib's using as well as how the sample is being chopped and sequenced-- most of the time its straight loops. Honestly it's all about the drums, at least in Samiyam's case-- he's a beast on the 404. Sometimes I wish I still had it because it's much faster when dealing with pretty much everything lol.

I think we just have to keep pushing one another, because not everyone has the patience for this shit-- we're in a very small number of individuals who love creating music, using a simple yet very complex device. In doing that, we could be the next Brainfeeder or Stones Throw or SP Society (but actually be able to live off of it, you know?) I'll stop right there, because I can almost hear the "rap it up" music lol. Peace.
