I found them at a DJ store up the street from me for now. The shortest one I could find is like 6 feet long ! Everything else that I have is like 3 ft max lol. I hope it doesn't pick up a lot of noise. I'll use it until I can find a shorter one. Now I just have to find someone to go in there for me. I had a bad experience and I really don't ever want to go back in there again .

There is no any Radioshack?

No we don't have that here anymore. We have something called The Source and from what I see online, they don't have it. Their basic RCA to RCA cables look so flimsy and cost even more that what the DJ store is charging. The store was closed anyway so I guess I will just have to go some time tomorrow and try to be strong.

I think this is the second time i heard you mention not liking a store. Whats going on in toronto? i visited there a few years back and id totally try to live there if i didnt have to go through all the paperwork. Starting to think it aint all peaches and cream. I went into a juice bar on Queen street and got a weird vibe but i think it was me.
Anywho, did everything work out with the VS.

My 4-track tape recorder records 4 mono tracks, so I have to record 2 tracks to get stereo effects.

So if I was doing live , non programmed/improv, stuff I would record the entire beat onto two tracks and trigger samples whenever I want for as long as I want...or at least till the tape runs out.... Then maybe send it back to the 303 for that vinyl sim compression...

Most of the time I have spare regular RCA cables, IDK why but I find them everywhere lol... so I have a drawer in my studio FULL of cables, firewire, USB, RCA, adapters, connectors, etc etc... so most of the time I just use what I have... but when I need to buy something then I buy Monster Cables... expensive but build as a tank! the best quality cables in the market PERIOD.
What about Ebay? do you sell/buy on Ebay? I wonder what happened in the store, I never have trouble in stores I think it is because most of the time I buy my stuff from internet lol

yeah that's standard issue on a mixing board. they're mono channels so you gotta pan each hard left and right. that's the deal in any studio with a big neve or ssl console.

you could also get two of these 1/4" mono to rca cables:

also 6 feet is good for cables. often i'll find the 3' ones are too short for a lot of situations. better to have a little too much than not enough

Well lol, I don't know if it sounds petty or dumb but it's a bunch of old, pervert Jamaican men and when I go in there, they kind of just ogle my body and act stupid. The last time I went, I asked one of the people for what I was looking for. He was like oh, ask that guy...so I ask the other guy, he's like oh, ask this other guy, around and around a few times (and the store is not that big that they would have so many different employee specialists. It's about the size of an average convenience store) until I was almost ready to leave the store. Then finally this one guy comes out and was trying to help. He was talking to my chest the whole time pretty much, and was trying to up sell me to something that totally was not what I was looking for and was at least $1300 more. While I was dealing with him, everyone else was behind me staring and making comments. I finally just left lol and they are all like "byyyyye" in unison.

I guess I can deal with it if it's for my beloved SP, but IDK. It's just really uncomfortable, and I don't want to financially support that kind of unprofessional ish. I think I may just go to my regular spot and just get the dual RCA to RCAs and just clip on the RCA to 1/4" adapters on the ends.

LOL... don't take it wrong but that's the way how it is in most of the Latin American and Caribbean countries... I know what are you talking about and I bet if you are not used to this then could be very uncomfortable, I think then you should just buy from internet or find another way... near my house do no exist any of those music stores (at least not at walking distance!...) besides I always find that internet have better price/quality so I don't mind waiting for a couple days... here in Jersey everything is so fucking far! you need a car to move... In Peru I just used to walk to the stores and we have a special place called "Paruro" it is a whole street PACKED of every electronic shit that can exist in this world and FULL of techs! they can fix EVERYTHING!!! but believe me when I said EVERYTHING! the best shit is that they almost don't charge you... and pieces/parts are CHEAP!... let's say that you broke your headphones plug... that piece cost in the USA (Ebay $4) then you need to solder that or send it to a tech to do it if you don't know how... so another extra $20! that shit could cost you in Peru less than $1 !!!
Well that street was pretty far from my house but a cab could cost you like $3 and then most of the time since you are already there you can buy extra shit for your studio or home stuff... the next street it is the Peruvian China town! food is awesome in there! OMG I just noticed that I'm missing my country! lol

Yeah, I'm west indian too so I know how it is, but still lol. It can be irritating. Plus, I'm really reserved, so I don't like all that kind of stuff. I like to stay in the cut lol.

Damn another strike in Toronto? The one time I went to visit there was last year during the last couple weeks of the trash strike hahah. Good to see the people aren't afraid to make demands, but sorry that it's keeping you from using the interweb to order hahah. That store sounds shitty...at least if you take care of it now you won't have to again tho :P good luck..

Sounds like a couple of D-bags. They are everywhere and spreading. Dress up like a dude and go in there, with a mustache and everything, act like that chick from that 80's movie "Just one of the guys". Dress like a greaser with a pack of ciggs in your white tshirt sleeve and rock a slick back. Might work. I know if i were working in an audio store and some girl came in to buy some audio equipment id probably be staring her down. Im impressed by girls who dont do average girl stuff. I remember this chick came into radioshack to check out mixers for turntables. The guys there couldnt really help her so i slid in like barry white, Told her about guitar center and to stay away from radioshack at all cost. I might have been talking to her chest, who knows, cleavage is a hard thing to look away from.
Well hopefully you got what you needed and your rocking out. Like i said, the 1/2 and 3/4 inputs correspond to the 5/6 and 7/8 inputs as well on the vs, so try hooking it up to the 1/2 and record on 5/6. might work.

lol, I understand all of that, but they could at least do it discreetly instead of making me feel so...ick lol. Also 1. all of them were old enough to be my father, 2. I was wearing a boat neck sweater so there was no cleavage to behold.

Hehe, I had the image of myself with some cigarettes twisted up in my t-shirt sleeve and some greasy hair rolling up in the store leaning lol. I'm dying over here. I'm sure they would be acting even more extra though.
