ROLAND SP 606 Buttons don't work or respond.

Post by JBB »

HI, If anyone has the same problem and/or can help.
Just purchased a Roland SP 606 and some of the buttons like the Pad bank, Exit, F1 Direction down and knob assign buttons, don't respond easy. I'll have to press them 4 to 5 times and with a lot of force so they would work. Is this a common problem, could it be dust? cracked solder? is it easy to repair? I worried that eventuall they will stop working completely. Could someone please help.........Thanks....

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply. So in other words I have no choice but to get them repaired by a technician. Just a quick question, do you get them replaced by new buttons or just repaired where the damage was? Thanks again.

We are encountering the same problem with our 606. Especially the transport buttons that are most frequently used are affected. Has anybody by now disassembled the unit and had a look inside? What kind of buttons are those and how are they replaced? Can I get replacement buttons anywhere?

Any suggestion is welcome!
