SP-555 Lo-fi Compressor MFX B5

My question is about the Lo-Fi Comp (MFX B5). What the hell do the "TYP" and "FLT" settings mean? I know it means type and filter, but they are obviously not just amounts. There seems to be distinct changes in the sound as you turn the dial, so it would leave me to believe that there are a list of types and filters. The manual does not have a list. Anyone else have insight on this?
