something interesting about Sega Genesis/SNES

Post by kel »

listened to this podcast where these guys were interviewing this guy who did a bunch of music for Sega Genesis games back in the day, can't remember his name... but he was into sampling and he sampled guitar distortion and heavy metal drum sounds to do the soundtrack for 'Skitchin'...
The genesis had a few seconds of sample time to work with and the rest was on an FM synth chip... and according to this guy, the SNES music and sound effects were 100% samples! pretty cool, all of the synths used on the SNES soundtracks were actually sampled straight from popular keyboards at the time. that's all :)

Nice, Skitchin was a good game too. And Road Rash. My cousins and I used to play the shit out of those 2 games.
