c'mon peeps!
seems like the 303 section of this forum doesn't get a whole lot of action. seems like everyone has moved onto the 404!

serenity now!
You know, a member of my congregation has a timeshare in Myrtle Beach. Perhaps, if you're not too busy, we could wing on down after the High Holidays?

It's always been that way, mostly because there are more 404 owners and most of the information or tricks are applicable to both machines. 404 really is better in almost every way too.

Re: c'mon peeps!
The 404 is def faster on rec times, load times, truncate times. However the 303 still sounds a lot more grimey than the 404. I own both of them and the fxf is more portable but I still run ALL my stuff through the303 and then to casette. Love the three but mine started to loose recorded sounds that were on the card after a restart. I trust my 404 to rec on the cf cards now.

where the 303 wins:
smaller
better looking
rawer sound
better pads
smooth reverse function
ext source whilst resampling
where the 404 wins:
faster
battery power
internal mic
more pads
more storage
more effects

Re: c'mon peeps!
When you make beats outside the 303, do you run lets say a DAW beat throught the 303 to give it more beef? Or do you run samples through the 303 before you finish it on lets say a DAW?

Re: c'mon peeps!
possibly both. if you do the beat in a daw you have that extra flexibility in arranging, editing, etc. but when you actually sample into the 303 i think it makes shit sound more raw than just running sound through it as an fx box.
so you might end up sampling parts into the 303, bumping them into the daw, then finish by running the beat through the 303 with vinyl sim compressor. i guess sampling the whole beat into the 303 at the end would be just as good if you have enough sampling time
