What up yall, I was wondering where you guys (and gals) get your individual drum samples from? I'm new to sampling. Before i just used drum machines, But i wanted to program beats with melodies/stabs and so on...So far ive just used the audio outputs from my drum machines to sampler, recording each drum hit individually.(I tend to get really technical with my drum sounds so they sound original). Is there an easier way of doing this/ Am i overdoing this HA HA HA! Just interested in how you guys do it. Where you get your samples?

i pretty much always sample my drums from vinyl. it isnt easy to find clean drums without backround noise, or another sound cutting off the tail of the drum so i find myself very often using reverb and isolator/eq.

There are tons of free drum machine samples around the web...just do a google search. I also use single hits from the Native Instruments Battery libraries...and then layer and filter them.
