Can I run an SP-404 through an MPD24 which is connected to a laptop. What I want to do is sync my SP-404 with my Fruity Loops sequencer.

No, What you need a Midi out to usb cable and connect that to your 404. The MPD will still let u trigger the 404 from FL and you will also be able to sequence the 404 from FL.

Is this correct?

SP-404 >---[MIDI IN > MIDI OUT]---> MPD24

MPD24 >---[USB > USB]---PC

This should give me the ability to sync my SP-404 with FL Studio and sequence in it?

I would save the time of hooking it up an fiddling with that configuration and just use the 404 by itself and FL Studio with the Mpd 24. With the edison sample editor and FL Slicer there's really no reason to involve the 404 in the chain especially since Fl has more effects processing and the ability to host any vsti or vst. But that's just my opinion.

that's true as far as FL, but if you were looking to get a trigger for the 404 i recommend the korg padkontrol, which is blessed with the best pads yet discovered by man. =)

The reason why I want to include it in the chain is because I have not yet found a PC equivalent for certain features. Those include the Vinyl Simulator and the Isolator.

Just sample with the 404's vinyl sim and then take the sample of the cf card and put it into Fl Studio and chop it up and play it to the beat. I'll post a beat I made like this in FL Studio so you can hear what I mean. Just give me like 30mins.

Aight so I took a little longer but I decided to mix it a little since I never get to use a real mixer when I use my sp-303. So check it and see what you think.:D

that's a sick beat Dr.S, i really like the way it changes up constantly with nice little edits to keep it fresh.

Right on, I can do a lot more complicated chops and things on the computer.
