dollarllama d wrote:shit we all can step our game up honestly even some of our favorite beatmakers can too. it just a way of wording it to ppl where it doesnt come off as knockin them instead of helping them. there's ways to critique someones music in a helpful way. whenever i get hit up for questions in pm's if i can answer it i will. shit i had questions for ppl b4 i dont know everything. but if one person says ur music sucks doesnt mean it true.
word, I guess like a.D. was saying tho that should be something that don't even need to be stated. if you aren't trying to constantly improve then you prob shouldn't be doing music. I don't think I've ever met a real artist that wasn't trying to get better or evolve
you'll be surprise how many cats that think they know it all and full of themselves w/ a lil buzz. but yeah that an obvious to keep evolving
i think there has been a lot of great music posted up recently. even if its not always on point, the members of this forum are honest and love what they do. i love the high amount of activity lately, and i think its great how new peeps are always welcome as long as they don't post spam about nike dunks this is one of the only forums i've seen where noobies don't get shit on for no reason. we even give love to the mpc kids

If you think this board is full of nonsense you wouldn't believe what some other forums are like. It's real easy to ignore the unpleasant aspects and utilize the good parts. I feel you about wanting feedback and not getting it, personally I'm just so fuckin busy I rarely have time to listen in depth enough to provide useful comments.
Thanks for the optimism and understanding. If I ever need help with one of my beats I will personally send it to you for your feedback. I am aware that there are a group of people on here that really care and do try to promote positivity. I guess if I want feedback I will personally send these cats my stuff. I totally understand about being to busy to leave feedback, we all have our own shit going on and we are all fortunate just to be able to login for 10-20 minutes a day. But a dude who wants to take the time to be negative and call out a whole group of people, instead of taking that time and using it for positive to give a singular person some feedback (good or bad) is a lame in my eyes. I am a victim of the shit we are talking on about feeding into the drama here instead of spending the time to check out some music and leave some feedback. So Im out gonna workout and workout some beats. Peace to all the music lovers, the innovators not the haters.
lol when I first joined the forums I posted almost all of my first beats because I felt so accomplished making them (all garbage) but ppl in here still show love.
I think the key sometimes is not to bring each other down by saying "yo the beat was wack" or "could use a little of this"... I think it's more beneficial to the person to highlight what you liked about the beat because a) it reveals his/her skills and b) it motivates us to keep moving putting out more stuff.
I don't think the music section in here should have any type of filters at all. If you think the beat is wack, post it someone might like it. Happens ALL the time. Somebody might wanna rap on it whatever. The filtering should however come into to play when your trying to compile a beat tape or something to show us - In that sense yeah you're looking for stuff that all fits together and has a purpose - you're best work - not some 15 beat album that has the last 15 beats you made -> unless you nail it every time lol
If the music section were a bandcamp page, then I can see admbmb's point. It's just the these forums serve a greater purpose than just posting our music.

you see?? even this shit slinging thread became positive - in typical sp forums fashion
and def EndorShores -- I will try to make more of an effort to listen and post feed instead of cruising thru "freedom of speech" most of the time from now on but feel free to PM me anything you want

I'm trying to listen here
Close/move this thread or die
I noticed there isn't a moderator for Your Music section. there definitely should be, so when something like this comes up it can just be moved or deleted before it snowballs into something that takes away from the purpose of the section
Time to chime in!!! Mic test...on your chest, im climbing... stop the beat!
Thought this was the music section, my bad. Better step my "noticing" game up before i got spittin rhymes in the wrong post.
I actually like hearing the less produced beats on here. I learn alot more from those, instead of the dope ass beats that im like, "how in the fuck did they do that". Its all a learning process. The title of this post is like asking someone to not to join a b-ball game because they cant shoot. Except, the b-ball game is taking place in a basketball training camp. We are all here to learn and evolve, and feedback is a part of that evolution. This amdbdbnamdn dude must be dropping track as good as that bill and teds excellent adventure song, where it brought the world together and stopped wars n shit. If he is not producing tracks like that then whats the big deal.
Theres always someone to pull you down when you trying to climb, so keep a kung fu grip and let your balls dangle in their face when your moving on up to the east side!!!
admbmb-your soundcloud is a perfect example of what we're talking about- what people like musically is a completely objective thing-personally I could never sit down and listen to a whole tape of yours,or more than 1 song really...just not my type of shit. Just saying.
??No ones pissed off man,wtf are you talking about? This entire thread is full of cats with a lot of anger towards this thread-and it was justified. This is the guy that wants complete honest critique, right? That wasn't even harsh-just using his own music as an example- again-just not my type of shit-just like mine might not be his-or yours... Just saying...jeff.thanks.
