008 Sample for Battle 8

Post by Holmes »

Here's the sample for Battle 8:
http://www.zshare.net/audio/3249939359088b/

It's an 80s Italidisco classic! 'Key West' by Kasso
I absolutely hated this tune the first time I heard it on the stereo at work, but once that lead synth line gets in your head it's there to stay!
I'll be real interested to hear how you peeps can twist up the melodies.

(HINT - there's a good section at 3:30 to get drums from... and the hats should be no problem cos of the intro)

I won't be participating cos have got gigs coming up, but I'll put in my 2 cents when voting comes around. The last battle was a bit too long, but I think everyone got it together in the second week... so... I'm gonna set the deadline as WEDNESDAY 5th (so you've got ten days to get wild!) :P

spbattle8.mp3 - 2.71MB

Sorry about the levels. TURN IT UP.

I used the time shift, and to get rid of the 'crackle' had to isolate/pitch etc a few times, which made it flat/quiet.

I like how it turned out

Hmmmm... 2 entries... not so good!

I thought this would be easy
I flipped this tune a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it... But then I guess that's what this forum is all about; everyone has their own styles and techniques, which aren't always gonna work together!

Oh well. I'm sure one of you guys can come up with a much more 'SP-friendly' sample for the next battle... (After all... I've only had mine for 2 months!)

Nice beats tho.
