Bpm sync in pattern mode... can it be turned off?

It's a nice feature... for a dance music artist maybe?

Can it be turned off so I can play a pattern after another but without the bpm sync? Just bought the 404SX and I'm still curious if I'll end up doing songs the resample way or if I'll have any use at all for the pattern mode.

I guess I'm looking for a way to do these semi off-beat rhythms like Rza or something with changing bpm's and different kind of swings and shit. It's just that my timing with the pads isn't really the best yet so i've had some help with the metronome. It's all very logical that way.

You can switch immediately to another pattern by holding down [SUB PAD] and pressing the desired pad.
