Well, I did use a few additional samples left in the A/B banks after I cleared the card lol. That's where I decided to keep some "random trigger effects" on a beat I messed with before this one.

And, exported the wav into FL Studio, but only to convert to mp3 format of course.

first up, i voted for BlackSnow, you killed it man those drums were perfect.

second, this isn't any beef or nothing just me clearing myself, for the record in terms of the bass in the track I entered, with regard to rule 1,

External mastering (E.Q., compression) is ok but don't rearrange anything.

all i have done to my track from the sp to soundcloud is to administer some EQ (albeit to significantly boost the bass on the track) and compression in audacity, no bass stabs, no external bass lines, only that was in the sample.

lots of confusion this week with people putting in random samples and potential programme use to edit/boost/manipulate sounds. i hope next week everyone knows whats up and its all cool.

peace everyone :D

-but the sound-everything was raw and right out of the box- some of this glitchy shiny synthy stuff sounds like there's some definite software work going on-,even some tracking out possibly-I could be wrong- if so, I completely appologize.maybe some people have some super secret in box mastering mega efx tweaking I don't know about.that's just what I'm hearing w/ some people and have been thinking I've been hearing for a while. But shit,This board as a whole is really suffering nowadays compared to 2-3 years ago.

This is what I was wondering to cause cats are sounding like super producers on here. No offense if you are but damn share some knowledge my shit is suffering. I got on here back in Dec there was like three people doing battles that still are. Then I start putting my bullshit up, must have influenced some new people to jump in and old to jump out hearing how terrible my shit is. Sorry

But for real Jak I really liked how you had a theme going with your beat. It was cinematic and it told a story, really dope. CGKO really liked the drums.
Black Snow wins it for me. this beat has stuck with me since I first heard it. Dope crispy ass drums ill chops=winner.

i'm just really impressed with how clean a lot of peoples beats are, you guys have skills. the mixing mastering side of beat production is still something i really gotta work on. i rely heavily on the eq and compression tools in my music program to bring the volume of my beat up but it's still not as loud as everyone else's. ill figure it out though :D these battles are great practice. peace.

congrats to black snow!

dunno if my track is one of the ones getting questioned for synthy parts / being over processed - I use a lot of resampling with effects, for example sub bass , then fuzz, then filter, then delay for bass line (using drums as source).
No samples other than battle source ever used. SP555 into reaper using USB, then EQ and compression.

I voted for yours. That shit was out of control. I hear and can tell what you are doing there and it is just ridiculous.

See this is what im talking about!!!! Thanks for the tip Blavatsky never processed a bass line that far. Thats super producer shit right there imo. The 555 has what 36 effects I believe and this is flexing the potential of the machine.

Im with you man. A bit of advice I can offer is you said you use comp and eq in your music program. I would suggest maybe trying to utilize these with the in box effects to beef your sound up from the beg instead of relying on your program. Im pretty green but what I try to do is maybe throw some effects such as comp or eq on your drums first to get them the way you want them. Try to maybe process some of your drums and chops individually to get them setting in different places, I noticed on your last track that the sound visualizer was just big and flat across the whole thing which leaves everything kinda muddy sounding to me. I usually end up smashing everything against a wall with comp and eq at the end myself but within the box, but I feel maybe trying to mix as I go helps things stand out apart from each other a little better. Im positive there are others on here that could lend a helping hand on this matter if anyone cares to drop some knowledge. Enjoy your weekend everyone peace.

thanks for the advice endo. ya i should work on separating the sounds more so they don't muddy things up, and using the built in eq and compression is a good idea. i usually use the isolator a lot to filter out good low frequencies for bass, then use vinyl sim for other compression and stuff. i think that's one of the main things i love about the 505 as well as other sp's is the processing you can do; it's limitless, but does take focus. :P

Nice work!
Clean and simple. And no "extra" samples.
Congratulations!

Hmm a vote came in late but I think Black Snow still won given the timing of the poll...I dunno, pretty new here.

Black Snow, you gonna post up some samples for battle 87?? I'd be glad to post some if you are busy/can't/don't want to.
