Here's my second post on the forum, so sorry if im asking again for some enlightment...and my english s*** a lil bit
I want to use my 404 on Saturday cause im playing alongside some big names and i dont wanna spin vynils that night.

1- My first question concerned the wav importing. As far as i understood, i need to apply a certain ASCII rename of my files. So lets say i have 12 wav i wanna assign in a certain order, what name should i gave dem?
Wav 1 to go Pad 1 = song name is 1a then 1b for pad 2??
Cause i wanna introduce live samples between my tracks so i dont really want to import all in one shots, Pads after Pads. I wish i could let some pads free so i can record on it.
For example:
Pad 1 = empty
Pad 2 = wav
Pad 3 = wav
Pad 4 = empty

Is this possible, to load this way?? or do i have to load all in one shot and delete each pad?


2-Just for confirmation, we are agree that my SP wont accept any CP up to 1gb? right? Cause i spend 2 hours yesterday into Chinese electronics eqs. and when i asked for a compact flash 1gb (mine is almost full) they all laugh at me....like really laugh (i let you imagine the scene)
So i checked out on Amazon and they sell Verbatim compact flash 1GB, do you think my SP will accept this brand?

3- and my last question, concerns the Effects. Sometimes the effect dont apply to my pad. I have to stop the sound by unHolding pads then i relaunch then i can apply the effect, and even sometimes it doesnt launch it. Anyone got troubles with the using of Effects? Or is it any techniques to be sure it will apply everytime?

is it crucial that they load up that way on the spot?? or can you prep it so that you have the sounds where you want before you ever get to the venue?? i think when you import sounds it automatically places them back to back, can't have spaces, but if you don't need to load on the spot then prep it all you want at home, load up sounds, move em around so you have your spaces, resample pieces to make it look like you do a change up, add in one shots, prep it so you can do everything you wanna do

as for CF cards, i don't know if that one works, there is definitely a thread somewhere in here that people posted what cards work for them, you can check that, or maybe somebody who is familiar with that card can let you know, but there are definitely issues with a lot of cards, so be aware

as for the effects, it sounds like your problem is that when you choose an effect, you have possibly hit another pad after the one you want the effect selected too, and so when you turn on the effect, its for that single pad as opposed to the one you want. if you hit the remain button and hold it, you can see what pad(s) is/are selected and choose more but just hittin that pad while remain is held down, it won't trigger the sound, but it will light up and the effects will then be spread across all of the pads you selected, be aware though that if you have a group of pads selected, and then you do somethin like turn off the ext source, which lets say wasn't one of the selected pads, then you turn on an effect (or even turn one off to prep turning another one on) then all of a sudden the ext source is the single selected pad for effects and the others you had selected are lost, and you have to go through and reselect them.....if your interested in havin the same effect across every pad, then hold remain and hit the effect you want, it will put it across every pad, then if you turn off an effect and change it, it will always be on every pad so you don't have to worry about playing the 'remain and select' game

the remain button is what i thought of as well. Another thing (if the card works) dont forget the sample swap function if they don't load right. tbh I7ve given up on importing/exporting recently. I still back-up my cards so that I can re-use though.

Thanks a lot for your answers, the event i was supposed to perform, was pretty weird so i couldnt play what i wanted at all....I was on a line up with only djs who played Uk Funky or/and Disco or/and Dubstep
So....all i prepared was actually pretty matching. NOT.



Also i spin at 2.30am when the crowd was boiling, dont think they will appreciate a massive JeremiahJae at this moment, even the promoter told me if you wanna do this, play at the end, but you'll get no one.
So wrong time wrong place i guess....Anyway im actually doing a remix for a friend, and my computer is fucked. So i just have my SP, a tape recorder and cds/vynils....So im doing it this way for now.
If i get my comp back on time i will back up stuffs inside for a lil master at least. Cause all my samples/Loops sounds like a fuckin volcano now*
