dumb soft ???

Post by jbl »

all right; get ready to laugh.
i used to play with mtv music generator on ps2. it was kinda fun and i liked that format of laying one track down and then another while seeing it all in front of me. plus i could sample in, alter bpm, effect waves... is there any software that works like this game but is a little more versatile. i am a newb to software.

i have a laptop running at 750, with 512 ram and no soundcard(yet).

Damn, with only 750mhz processor and 512mb of ram you could run some programs but you would want to stay with something that isn't very graphically intensive or otherwise taxing on your ram because waiting for edits and effects processing can be a nightmare. I don't know what that game was like but this should run on your laptop.

You could look into MAGIX Music Maker, but eventhough it's not bad because it's very cheap software.. it is aimed at hobbyists and amateurs. Don't expect Pro Tools kind of features or Fruity Loops kind of extra tools.... Still, can't go all that wrong for it's price. You'll see the bars and stuff visually, but I do think you may want to check out some older version, because 750Mhz seems kinda little power for the visual stuff you'll get.
