dam, thanks for the layout. Im probably gonna grab that BM2 anyways but i aint feeling all this crashing your talking about. But the slicing thing is pretty cool. could sit around chopping samples for days without having to be in a certain room to do it.

Just saw Formals post and cop'd Garageband. It's pretty sick. I like how the drums are multisampled not for velocity but for different areas on the drum. Kind of crude right now but the idea is really amazing. When iPad 4 comes out it's gonna be crazy!

just bought beatmaker 2 only to find out it only works on 3G and 4G ipod touches. fuckin SOB's and ever expanding technology. Fucking blows that i bought it like 2 years ago and im already 2 versions behind and theres tons of software i probably cant explore because of this BS.
Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
In my comparison post I listed the device compatibility for BM2 as a con. I also own a 2g ipod touch and can't use it. Luckily, I have an ipad that runs it great.
Nanostudio works great, even on the oldest devices!
Springwater, you can send a request through itunes for apple to give you a refund since it does not work on your unit.

ya i know, but all im gonna do is buy another one at some point and fucking re-download it anyways. Just fuckin sucks. that whole 2G, 3G shit just slipped past me on this buy. im usually good about stuff like that.
Just sucks that they come out with an upgraded version of ipod touches every year since 2008, i dont know if i should wait for the 5G version, cause then, all the 3G and 4G programs might not work for it.
Too many fuckin options out there. Computer technoligy is turning into a supermarket of options. Ever see how many different deodorants there are out there, DAYUUM, there are a lot of fucking ways to stay fresh now-a-days.

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
anyone know if there is an app that can do chopping. I got pretty good doing it with nanostudio but its just a little tedious, would love to set up slice points maybe, or just cut out the parts that i like a little easier than nanostudo or beatmaker 1.
Oh, beatmaker 2 is off limits to me for the time being, i got the 2g ipod touch, bastards.
Any other program since i already know that beatmaker 2 does this.
any cool wave editors or something?

Here's another beatslicer app that works on iphone and ipod too. It doesn't mention any requirements so you should be good to go.

after clicking your link i spaced out into an app trance (i know you know what im talkin about). Dam you for giving me that website, wasted my night reading about all the apps. Fuck it, found out that there is a fl studio mobile on its way. probably gonna be the best app out especially if your a fl studio head like me. Thanks for that link tho.

The Fruity Loops app has no sample import or audio recording/editing. It's like a Groovebox/Rompler with no sampler type deal. Looks pretty wack, I am a fruity loops hater, but if they dropped a full featured app i would be all over it.

I picked up SynthTronica. An amazing synth with a wide range of sounds. Has a wicked multitouch filter. It is a cool source of beats if you beatbox or sample. It really needs copy/paste though but the dev claims they are working on it. Totally recommended.

Then fruityloops will suck ass. Thats the best part, is importing your own samples. Fuck stock samples.
Well, it was worth some hope.

i know we're all more sampler than synth on this forum, but on a whim i picked up Xenon Groove Synthesizer for $5, and damn....i'm impressed.
didn't look at the instructions at all - just started clicking screens and sweeping the touch screen and its pretty great.
sometimes simple things lead to easy, creative results, you know?

Ya, ive had that xenon for a while and its dam cool. Theres another app that looks just like it but it isnt that good. I think its argon or something. Only thing about these synths is recording in patterns. Id rather have a waveform and layer shit back to back. But its nice to sample sounds from.
