SP-404 with Arduino MIDI Effects triggers

Post by nathanxl »

Hi
Im considering using an SP-404 in an art installation Im building.
I dont know what this sampler is capable of and would like some advice before I purchase. Im basically interested in the effects it can put over the samples.

MIDI events will come from the Arduino Microcontroller into the SP-404.

I want to know if the effects can be controlled via MIDI?

The SP-404 will be out of view and sealed in a box so I want to be able to trigger the samples and controllable effects via MIDI only.
Can this be done?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
N

or maybe consider used sp-404 + kaoss pad 3 or similar. then all could be done from your arduino via midi =)

I would avoid the MPC simply because it hardly has any effects

Using a separate effects device is a decent idea..

Have you considered using a netbook/similar?
