if your talking about hip hop influences then I gotta go with lord beatjitzu and some ill tracks by other forum memebers here too. All that boom bap shit I used to listen to has been played too much for me get amped anymore. And all the underground and mainstream shit I have heard lately has been weak.

I'm starting to get into a lot of 80s synth and metal. I also like a lot of rock from the 60s and 70s, its a lost sound.

anything really...

music making is kinda really impulsive for me, i dont have times or anything planned out or a quota i have to meet

im rather stoaked on going record shopping or listening to new music and from that spawns the impulses to try something "new" and whatever mood i may be in is what "influences" me to make something sound a certain way..

Anything at all electronic, from Cage and Stockhausen right through to the Chemical Brothers and Cosmic Gate.

Pop music too, not for the style  , but definitely for the techniques. A lot of new and exciting ideas are first used in pop tunes.

Prince Paul = my favorite beat creater and producer
De La Soul = their first album produced by Prince Paul is probably my most favorite moment in music ever

Prince Paul created that vibe imo, he created fun in hip hop to me. shit makes me feel like my youth will last forever. i love it

DJ Shadow, RJD2 are also big influences to me aswell since they (once again to me) have pushed the boundaries of sampling and how the music builds together

Hi-Tek, Erick Sermon, Alchemist, Pete Rock, Cut Chemist, Dan The Automator, Ayatollah, etc.... all big impacts on me. other heads but some of these cats are the ones that changed me forever

I really like Negativland. They're not Hip Hop or anything, but they get pretty crazy with their use of samples.

I'm into scratching, so I really like Kid Koala, but he's not really a producer. Don't know if that counts.

It's hard to pick a number one influence, I'm as inspired by the samples themselves as I am by any one particular producer.

Its hard to choose, but people that always inspire me are people like Brian Eno, David Bowie, Madlib, Herbie Hancock, Pete Rock, Brian Wilson.. and ofcourse some of the people on these boards!

Cats like Dr.S and LBJ inspire me in the way they flip their gear. Fo real !

But in hip hop in general... DJ Shadows entroducing/premptive strike And RJD2s deadringer... Madvillain... Reflection eternal... all the gangstar stuff...dialated peoples the platform. Those where pretty much my biggest inspirations coming up.
