Well it's a device meant mainly to play back media(movies and music) so it has a pretty flat output. Meaning it doesn't really have a "sound" what you put in comes out.Sinapse wrote:meant to bring up in my previous post but what is the deal with the sound quality (not just bitrate and all that which I'm sure is top notch..but thickness/warmth) on the outputs from an iPad?

word I knew it wouldn't enhance the sound...I was more or less asking if it actually can hurt the sound, make it sound thin/tinny/digital
Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
Nope sounds good to me G! I really heavily effect all my stuff in the computer and run my ipad through various effects on the way in so that's where I get my "mojo" from.Sinapse wrote:word I knew it wouldn't enhance the sound...I was more or less asking if it actually can hurt the sound, make it sound thin/tinny/digital

Just got beatmaker 2 a few days ago (yes, I'm quite the hypocrite). It's actually a pretty good piece of software. Importing mp3s to chop from the library is my favorite feature so far. The pad/mpc section of the app has been greatly improved too. It has basically every feature you could want. The modular design also means that you can stack as many virtual instruments (keyboard samplers/MPC style samplers) and FX as your machine can handle. IMO worth the $20 asking price.
I also just downloaded iSequence for ipad. This is another great application and a smooth workflow. It's on sale this weekend for $4.99 down from $15 bucks. I highly suggest checking out both of these appz.

I was browsing the forum because I'm thinking of getting a 505 but then I see this thread and just bought bm2.
I haven't used it yet, but I'm wondering, what can an sp do that it can't? The chop shop bit looks awesome...

Basically the 505 can't "touch" BM2(get it...). Having an SP to go with BM2 is great though I would recommend a 404 or 303 for the effects.Doweneedaminttest wrote:I was browsing the forum because I'm thinking of getting a 505 but then I see this thread and just bought bm2.

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
Got my iphone a couple weeks ago and was going to cop nanostudio. The one thing I did not like about it was I have to import songs via wifi with a ip address. When I was going to the app store to buy nanostudio I noticed beatmaker2 came out with the function to import songs straight from the ipod no ip address. SOLD!! I messed around with this on the plane for a couple hours a few weeks ago. Today I was going to try to make something with it. Started chopping and did not get very far, as I was stuck checking out all this thing can do. I am impressed!!!! this program does more than any hardware I have ever touched. I killed a full battery checking this program out, and didnt get shit done. This shit is blowing my mind, all this on a phone!!! WOW. Everyone needs to check this out.

Hey bridge. Go to cydia (cuz I'm sure you're jailbroken) go pay $1.99 for an app called "retinapad". Open beatmaker 2 and rejoice! You can thank me later
