unbrain washable...that's cool!

anyway, i'm not on facebook, so i personally don't have trouble by this cause; but it's true that many people i know are really too much involved into this

true, i've deleted in the past and made the decisions you did (crunk), and i went back, i guess it doesn't matter whether you go back or not, but you just gotta learn to not sweat that shit, keep information minimal, untag pictures, hide things you don't want others to see, and don't post the bullshit that everybody else posts.........

i could see some shit with women really warranting a deleted facebook though, i've had discussions with a homie of mine where there is some girl postin some shit on his wall way to much, blowin it up, when he's not all about it, and how are you supposed to deal with that?? delete the comments and don't talk about it?? and its not even like he is sweatin some other chick or somethin, its just sucks that your wall is a billboard advertisement into your personal social interactions, people can just browse that shit and interpret your interactions, that sucks......it can definitely get complicated in that sense, but shit, i'm chillin at my house out in the woods without a car, the only shit my wall gets is a "where you been?" and fuck, i'll still delete that shit anyway, take it to message, you know?

now for the facebook hate............i hate when people post gay ass shit on a wall, that is totally irrelevant to post on someones wall, like recalling some stupid inside joke or reference to something that pretty much is only relevant to them (and maybe a few other friends), pretty much just to show how funny or cool they are on that persons wall, why would they wanna do that when so many random people that the person is friends with will browse that shit and read it?? save that shit for when your talking in person, or take it to a god damn message

Facebook is a fucking cesspool, but you can deal with it as the Dr. said above - just a question of whether it's in your benefit to deal with it.

For "business" purposes like promoting music and networking it can be useful. But personal facebook pages make people (consciously or unconsciously) put their personal life on full blast...which is something I don't totally understand, and it's gonna cause a bunch of problems. It's just kinda scary when you sit back and think about it because we are collectively giving away our privacy and slowly moving toward a world where the govt. and corporations know everything about us -

Back to the current, even using it for promotion can be bad imo b/c the nature of it causes you to waste huge amounts of time...even as someone who basically hates it and thinks it's lame, I'm still amazed and AGGRAVATED by how much time I allow myself to waste on there. I have a page now that is mostly for my music but there is a lil too much personal stuff on there, I am friends with some real life friends on there etc...so I'm thinking about deleting but starting back up and keeping it 100% anonymous and about music only. It still is a great way to reach people and spread your music if you know what you are doing.

i cancelled mine too, two months ago. was on there for a year, and disliked it, though getting hooked on it.

someone said this:
on facebook you'll start to dislike your friends, on twitter you get along with strangers.

not to advertise twitter, because i think in essence they're the same, but there's a certain truth to it.

It all depends how you use your FB I mainly use it to keep updated with sports and music/music events. Also a lot of music venues like "Low End Theory" post info on their events. and just to keep in contact with old friends

I've never understood getting back in touch with or staying in touch with people on FB...if you don't give it a shit enough to speak on the phone or see each other why drag it out with some meaningless FB convos. I can understand using it as a tool to get whatever it is you pushing on the world out there but what confuses me is when people use it as a replacement for real life interactions with friends and family. shit's creepy...I don't mean you cerpin taxt lol...I just mean in general

exactly. but I guess thats the spirit of our time. people tend to engage in a higher number of superificial relationships... "networking". not my thing, I have problems handling 4-5 close friends and it will stay that way.

also facebook/ twitter is all about "look at me" , but most of the time theres nothing noteworthy to pay attention to. so yeah, fuck facebook.
