i have the sl1200 black. my question is: when i have my speakers off and listen to the music coming directly from the table, is that sound effected by the rca outputs at all? i have been having a problem with weird distortion/vocal cancellation from different records and wanted to know if the rcas are to blame. thanks

Is this an issue of no preamp. The 1200's are not powered, so you would need a mixer/amp. Is it a grounding issue?

Deja vu? Naw..okay- so you have 2 tec 1200's--and you're trying to listen to records directly from the turntable with no kind of amplication? It just doesn't work like that man.. run the rca's through a mixer or reciever. You can't just plug a 1200 in,put a record on play it.Hope you get it worked out, peace.

ad think he's saying one of his decks was different to the other.. ie one is broke, so he sold that one n bought a workin one.

I ran a deck thru a studio mixer's instrument track for a while.. had to make my own EQ adjustments but it doesn't make too much difference once things are cut up into samples

?His question was are his rca's to blame for not being able to play records when the speakers are off. Unless he's talking about listening through a mixer/reciever w/ headphones...If he bought a new working one there shouldn't be any problem to post about.Just trying to figure out your exact situation sasquatch.

haha yeah its all good. thanks guys. just to clear up, i had a deck with bad wiring of some sort. decided just to sell it to someone who could fix that shit on their own. then bought a legit working technic from guitar center. im so damn happy that problem is over :)

Man you should of just fixed it up yourself. The rca wires getting a loose connection is pretty common but it's an easy fix and you could of replaced your 1200's with better wires and eliminated the annoying grounding wire.

If your new 1200's wires fail you again, you should keep that in mind.
