Question about Vinyl Sim Compression on SP404SX

Post by Heat Vision »

So i recently added a mini disc recorder to my set up which now allows me to add effects to my overall tracks :D

Ive been using MSX 12 to beef up my full tracks and certain one shot samples but im curious about what everyone here refers to as the "Vinyl Sim compression."

I see in the manual it says the effect has adjustments for
-Frequency range
-noise level
-wow/flutter

so how do i go about using vinyl sim as a compressor?

although the 404sx vinyl sim comes in handy. try running samples thru it with knob 2 and 3 all the way to the left, then knob one around 1oclock, it flattens the eq and can be used to remove some upper frequency noise/hiss, and you can manually manip knob 3 for some weird pitch stuff. i ran my battle 81 beat thru it and peeps seemed to like it
