Just upped a batch of beats to soundcloud maybe 9 or 10 there.. I can't really count.. But let me know what you think of them, also any advice on the actual recording/sound quality would be helpful too

Re: Batch of Beats...Need Feedback
i look forward to listening to them this evening...... you gotta love some good feedback.
Re: Batch of Beats...Need Feedback
that joint at 2:00 is really hot that could get wrecked heavy...overall I dig the sample work and the vibes and swings of your beats but as far as the mixing I would say that your drums are kinda passive in the mix, some tracks more so then others, but overall I'd say the drums could be more thumping and crunchier and also the low ends in general could be beefier they sounded a lil airy to me - dope joints all around tho man digging your sample selections and chopping a lot

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback
@Sinapse, thanks a bunch man I've always dug your ish. I have to agree fully on the mixing/recording and the drums not being at the right levels.. I need a serious schooling on this kind of shit, It always sounds alright out of the machine, but then listening back to recordings I always hate the levels and emptiness to the tracks.
Guess I'm just gonna have to put more time into that aspect

I'm high so I'll ramble a bit...the simplest advice I could give without getting too technical is to get into layering your drum and bass sounds in your multitrack or whatever it is you are mixing in...layering in the drums again at a lower dB with say the lows EQed up a lot and some more reverb, slightly more delay will give them a thicker feel. you can do similar technique with bass tracks, playing around with the frequencies you EQ up on the layers is essential since diff basslines and kicks are gonna have diff freq nahmean...but yea man it's all about the layering on the low end imo. also in terms of recording them in you might wanna bring your drums in hotter with heavier compression then you might on your samps, experiment with that so you got a fatter sound to begin with and layering would less involved.
Peace.

Respect Silent Paul, glad you checked and enjoyed ish, following you on soundcloud now. peace!
And right on Sinapse, sounds like good advice, I'm gonna try that out and keep working on recording/mixing and all that... definitely something I've been ignoring but I gotta get it down.
