I want to record my live dj sets flawlessly. I have been told to try the ikey. Can I just use the sp 404? Will the sound be high quality and how can I convert it onto my lappy? I use serato and ableton.

- what do you mean?
..to record a flawless set you will have to avoid mistakes ;P
No, but what is the case - you can´t record straight to your laptop ?
Depending on you mixer you can record it from some alternative outputs to a seperate recorder.
. Or? :D

I use minidisc for that matter. It has some sort of built in limiter or smth, helps straighten levels abit. The quality is not perfect, but that's not a studio mix it's a mix from a gig so why bother =]

You just need an rca->1/8" stereo cable to plug into your computer's line in (if it has one)..
then just download audacity and record...

sounds fine for recording mixes unless you are a famous person making a commercial release. In which case you already know how to do it anyway ;)
