sp 606 and midi/p606

Hi All
what are the steps involved in hooking the sp 606 up thru midid to 606?
can i also dump samples/loops from p606 to the sampler

i Have downloaded vista drivers when i connect the sampler to my computer and hit ext control the computer sees the sampler but when i got 606 software i get error msgs about soundcard and a msg that says an error occured while conecting hardware device,pls check your connections p606 will now close
can anyone help me pls
