MIDI sync issue

Post by noiserock »

Hi

Im having some big issues getting my SP-404 to properly sync with my Fostex MR-8 recorder.

I just want the SP-404 to follow the midi clock on the recorder, but when I press play on the recorder it follows the bar offset for the 4 beats that I have it on, then it starts blinking and then it play of the sequence in a really slow BPM, like possibly the slowest BPM on the sampler. while the fostex still keeps playing in 120 BPM.

please help!

once i had the 404, i had this same problem with my tascam dp01fx and my zoom mrs4; didn't solve the problem; however the 404 didn't go on a slower bpm than the recorders but it went on the same bpm...

A quick question. Could the problem be that the samples Are not the proper bpm?

personally i think it's just a matter of the 404 midi o'clock or the recorders we try send midi clock message unreadeable by the 404...
do the 404 works in sync with softwares?
try in the 404 tips'n'tricks section, who knows...

i had kind of similar problems with the 404 syncing to logic to record like that, i was able to figure it out in logic, but maybe somethings particular about the midi in the 404. i dont know if this will help but turn off any type of count in to rec feature if you can.

the issue is that my HD recorder sends a really weird type of MTC/midi clock fusion signals. If anyone has a really good software to track midi in signals(more advanced than midi ox) or a way to convert MTC to regular midi clock, I would love that.
