On NanoStudio can you...

Post by HxC »

I know they have a forum, but I didn't want to join up just for one question, and that one question is:
I have the NanoStudio on iPod Touch. Is there a way to hook a USB controller keyboard to it to use it as a module?
I love some of the synth sounds

ipod touch and iphone need midi mobilizer midi interface, then you can use any midi gear you want. On the ipad you can use the camera connection kit, which gives you a real USB port, and you can plug in 'most' usb midi gear or USB audio interfaces.

Also you can download the free PC/MAC version and it has USB midi support.

Synthstation is cool, but $99. Midi mobilizer is only $60 and you can use with ANY gear :)

Also with the Synthstation, unless you run it from AC/wall power, the A/D converters sound like shit and are weak. I would say to go with the mobilizer in case you want to change controllers later on, or if you upgrade your idevice you know it will work.

Synthstation is cool, but maybe for like $50-$60.

the synth station is able to support 3 apps right now, nanostudio being one of them and more to come because they are allowing people to develop their software for the synthstation. i did a bunch of reasearch last night after reading this post. the line 6 sounds like a piece of shit from all the reviews and problems. was not about to find one good source that said anything about using a misi controller with the line 6. most folks were using their keyboards to record midi noted and let the ipod play their keys back, which most newer synths do anyway. the support was all over the place and i found one youtube video about how the line6 kept going out of sync and alot of other problems. some dude actually made a video showing how it works one minute then it doesnt. so i would wait it out and see if they get a better version without all the kinks. their support has a long list of "to-do's" like download firmware, turn off your modem and a bunch of other shit that i didnt understand why it needed to be dont to make a midi controller work. so do your research or you might be another dude with a 60 piece of shit. i wouldnt trust it. and ebay had a synthstation for like 70 bucks, i think i might get it so be quick about it!

I have an iPad and the line6 mobilizer. I haven't tested it extensively, but it seems to work great with nanostudio. Used it for a couple hours so far.
