totally cool. the RC-50 plus 404 is a pretty robust combo. tons of stuff you could explore with that.

for my indie rock stuff i use an RC-20xl + 404, but the RC-50 is a whole level up.

I meant the combination of hardware she is using. And i havent seen anyone do this before with an actual sp device. The whole inventing thing, i just threw that out there. Kinda hard to invent anything now-a-days, alot has been done or experimented with already. Im just diggin her vibe, rockin a bunch of cords and machines on a king sized bed, creating those beautiful tones.
Id like to know what she is actually doing. Rocking a sp 404 which can loop as well, and a loop station.

I asked cause a lot of people don't realize you can use the sp itself as a digital recorder for vocals..I mean it can sample at basically the same rate a digital recorder/software records and has all the neccesarry efx for vox- compression,reverb, delay..tape echo for some john lennon ish even..this actully didn't occur to me till i read rza talking about recording odb for "brooklyn zoo" straight into his asr...I was like wtf? Why didn't i think of this, it's obvious. If you notice she's not using the mic in(i'm prety sure I didn't see a chord going into the mic input at least), but sampling her voice through the rcas,with an effect on. which is the way to do it..and she doesn't even use a phantom power mic or pre-amp-(the best way to do it)and shit still sounds professional. I started doing that about a year ago practicing some demo tracks, but it's actually a pain in the ass,(having to record your main vocal onto cd,re- record with that to do ad-libs,etc..)why i got my 8 track. But it's still mad dope that you can create a complete top-quality song including vocals using basically the sp alone- so in a way a 404 is a complete studio for a couple hundred bucks or so!.But yea, gotta love bed beatmaking.. i love having all my samples loaded up and lounging back on the bed or couch..not as much of an option with a big ass mpc.I don't even know what that loop station is or what it does exactly (besides well,loop..)but it LOOKS dope! Not saying this to sound like I invented some shit or something..it just doesn't occur to you right away when theres an actual mic input and it's shoved down our throats that we have to use software or a multi-track to record vocals.

I'm not trying to sound like "that dude"(take no offense mecha,lol)-but I was so focused on the musical aspect of this that I didn't notice till my second viewing a few minutes ago-trying to make sure whether or not she uses the mic input--she doesn't--- how nicely,uh, thick this girl is. i think that loop station provides phantom power. I thought that she may use the 404 for the effects and the loopstation for loops as well as the 404. At the last part of the video, you can hear a piece of a track and it sounds like a loop but on like 5/8ths or something. Like not really a loop but things come back in the same repetitive time signature.
And that chick is pretty cute too but i think its because she is sitting on a bed with music hardware, id have to see her in a dim bar or a theater or something to get the real view. I saw this other video on youtube of this really not so good looking chick rocking a 303 and a boss recorder in the background but for some reason i wanted to marry her. Id mary Sloth from the goonies if he was rock in a superman shirt, banging on sp pads. oh yeah!
