cheap studio

Post by dman5000 »

tonight i was experimenting and discovered with a few general computer things and the sp 404 you can jimmy rig a quick studio for demoing

these altec lansing portable computer speakers, the ones with out the sub, have an aux port and a 1/16 input coming out of it, the good part is both can recieve and play over top of each other , although i think what ever is in aux may be mono... but anywya that means you could run say something off you computer like a cdj or itunes or a virtual keyboard, etc and then play stuff off the sp over top .. . combine that with any cheap recording device even a cassate tape or boomboxes sometimes have little built in mics in my case the apple g4 and i think most have a built in mic that actually isnt so bad, download audacity, put the speakers near the mic and you recorded a cheap 2 input recording

this fits on like half a coffee table
he who hesitates gathers no moss

theres tons of stuff that can be done. Pair up your 404 with a small recorder of ne kind...multitrack, cassette...w/e and just record your 404 into it and then you can record that back into the 404 and keep adding on forever.
