Don't worry about posting this (gasp!) 2 times- it's not hurting anything in the least and no big deal- Not everybody frequents the crate diggers section so it's definitely understandable- and appreciated, 'cause I never woulda noticed it. :D Anyway- I saw a lot of this a couple years ago, can't remember where..but to me it's really dope to hear so many stories from a lot of the pioneers of golden age hip hop- not blow your wig back exciting, but definitely something good to sit back and chill too, as well as learn from. This vid really encapsulates the essence & ART of hip hop music from the producers perspective- from d.j.'ing, to breaks, to loops, to chopping samples, to "Digging in the Crates"- which a lot of kids that use the phrase still don't know is a term that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the DITC crew. There's more than a few funny moments too- my favorite being 5 ft. talking about a lot of "underground" rap becoming nerdy and busting into a little 1 bar 18 syllable freestyle, lol. Thanks man.

Hey a.d. , if you wanna make sure you don't miss anything make sure you hit the 'view new posts' link in the top right every time you come here :)

I think it's better if people keep things to 1 thread per topic otherwise it fragments the possibility for discussion if half the people post in one and half in the other.

gotta agree about the doc, I like hearing stuff from other producers.. even just dull things.. just makes it feel like being less of a loner as a musician if you know there are others out there somewhere

I prefer to just browse randomly personally..i've never clicked the view new posts thing in 4 years. I saw the 2 posts as a newcomer to the board just trying to share some dope stuff- now that you clarify, it does make sense- although it doesn't really seem like that's what you were implying at first. But yea, this is a doc definitely worth watching.

Just out of curiosity, what did you think I meant?

I hate thinking that I am not coming across how I mean to.. that kinda thing drives me insane wondering sometimes

this is our future, the miscommunication of text messaging. you never know how you might come across. I stopped using gtalk for that reason, some chick couldnt get my sarcasm and kept thinking i was making fun of her. Then i found out she was off her meds so it made perfect sense that she would be so paranoid. Her tip: Always leave a smiley face when you say something that the other person might take wrong, this ensures that they dont take it the wrong way.
use it wisely...

It's not really that serious, lol... I assumed you were just saying it so the board doesn't get "cluttered up" or something- which shouldn't be an issue with the overall small ammount of traffic this website gets..if I were new that's what I would get from "please don't post stuff more than once" with no explanation. like I said, your reasoning makes sense, I didn't think there was some deep seated meaning. but I was just trying to let Soon know it's nothing to worry about regardless. Dope vid!Dope post! Long live Lord Finnesse!Blame her MEDS!! lol.

I bought that DVD a loooooooong time ago. Then I hated myself for not realising the entire thing can be found on the Internet for free. Bits and pieces are all over youtube.

If you like that video you should check out the Documentary that was made about Pete Rock. Hella dope stuff right there...
