Stuck in the facebook->forum->video->etc loop

So I sit down as of a morning, to check out my facebook/emails... thinking "OK just a minute then I'll start working on music"

Then I check new posts on a handful of forums..

By now I will have been sidetracked at least once by a link someone posted or something someone said..

Inevitably I end up at youtube, so I stop by the front page to check new vids uploaded by the ppl I'm subscribed too...
Then I browse the relevant vids that show up next to that, subscribe some new channels...

By this time it's getting toward lunchtime..
I decide to take a break for lunch and go check out what TV Shows/Movies have been released today on QSS..
This can kill anywhere from the next hour through to the rest of the day+night..
Then after that, it's back to facebook/forums... etc etc..

Anyone else have this problem? It's not so much that I'm addicted to the internet.. its just that there is always more STUFF that you want to find out about/see/know.. and it's always just a click away.. Like trying to reach the pot of gold at the base of a rainbow!

That whole story sums up why I'm posting this reply & not making beats. Tonight's the Canberra gig of the Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer & Hudson Mohawke Australian tour... Stoked!

Because of this I felt super motivated, inspired & creative. Then I thought I'd check some emails. 90 minutes later, nothing's been achieved. Its almost time to head over to see the openers.

I deleted my facebook account partially for that reason. It's not good for you. youll be surprised how much you can get done without that website at least.

I don't think it's necessary to delete your Facebook account, you just have to have a little bit of self-discipline so that you don't hang around it the whole day, but it's a great tool to keep in touch with friends in other parts of the world as well as collaborateurs.

i don't see the pc as "an enemy".
personally, when i want to "work" (yet this word is not appropriate if we do something we like) on music i don't connect my pc to internet. fortunately my girl got one connected to and when i finish to "work" on music i go there.
but, howhever, i feel what Cartesia says about the "whole internet thing": after some clicks you are completely loose yourself by surfing on the net...
it happens...

saying this, i don't have a facebook account, so i don't know very well what happens inside that site...the only thing i can say is that here in france (but also when i go to italy) people always ask me: "are you on facebook?"

And yeah t.. My music gear is pretty much all hardware (except if I wanna download some samples or sample off youtube or something)... the prob is I have a laptop so wherever I am, it's just too easy to drop the computer right in the middle of things and start browsing

aw shit, i cant get nothin done, i got a million things to do, but facebook is like crack, i used to hate it and never go on, that or i watch stupid documentrys which suck a bunch of idiots spewing non sence like they saw it happen, arg, im gonna clean my house and try and make some music later.
