A Few Questions ?

When hooking up the 505 to a Turntable or CD deck do you need a DJ mixer like you do on the 2000XL also can the 505 be used as a midi squencer ?

I recommend using a mixer because direct output from the turntable may be too low for good sound quality. Although you can use the AMPLIFY tool to make sound (or sound portions) louder or quieter I recommend to use a simple preamp mixer for the sake of sound quality.

505 has some bad MIDI implementation so you better find something else for a full blown midi sequencer. I for example don't need this. 505 is capable of starting and stopping external midi devices and sending some basic midi messages but nothing special. If you really need midi sequencer go get the Yamaha QY or something alike.
