i think this is an interesting post. a really pivotal moment in my hip-hop education came from a guy i used to work with who you would NEVER in a million years guess was even into hip-hop...just didn't LOOK it at all, and his style was pretty whack imo... well of course, the dude knew way more about hip hop than i did, and he basically schooled the shit outta me and introduced me to the "underground"...so of course as the cliche goes you can't judge a book by its cover...

i don't think i have the typical hip-hop look...i got malcolm x glasses, and i usually rock penguin brand clothing, some ben sherman, and obey shit. people probably wouldn't guess i make beats and am into hip-hop...

but i think my point is, i hate that there has to be a certain "look", a costume if you're into a kind of music...i'm into rockabilly i wear that uniform, i'm into hip-hop i wear that uniform, etc...

My mom found a an old pair of Karl Kani shorts that I had when I was real youn, I was only 11 or 12 then but they so big they still fit now. I wear them just to get a reaction out of people. I still got some Cross Colors shit too, might have to bring that back to life, hhaha

i am the proud owner of 10 white T-shirts, 2 pairs of regular fitting black jeans (not too baggy, not too tight) and 1 pair of size 15 nikes. To spice up my attire for special occassions i have 8 pairs of boxer shorts and about 8 pairs of the same white sock. i also have a beanie that i wear if weather permits.

sometimes i wear my black basketball shorts.

When i am out and about you will find me with a backpack that my mother made me for my 21st birthday.

word.

yeah i agree with you here, hip-hop shouldn't be so image-drvien. and that's pretty much what wraps this thread up.

a size small bob cousy throwback, short shorts, high socks and a pair of chucks...a threat to attempt a mean lay up over your ass at all times.

nothin with a label, just your standard dickie colors, assorted plain colored tees, and a few different colored sweatshirts, some hooded, some not, then whatever shoes i'm skatin, never anything flashy, a nice clean cut shoe, not bulky or anything, right now i got these emerica herman g-codes and they're pretty tight, i fucking hate having to get dressed with other people in mind though, "pickin out" and outfit, whatever, i could care less about that shit, and really would be happy if nobody else gave a fuck what i was wearing either
