hi
still a post sorry
i read on the manual that we can import files and folders on the CF. i tried to import a folder with some .wav files inside, but the 606 doesn't read them.
so, what useful is to import folders? am i wrong?
or, in other words, how do you organize your import samples if they're many? you rename the many files everytime?
thanx

Hey ellaguru, ask as many questions as you like!I had the 606 and i used that little beast so much that its spirit still lives in my house!
You can't import folders on the card,606 can't find the wavs...so simply drop the samples and rename them(only on 8 letters) to keep things organized...
But in my opinion this procedure is slow(not only the internal card reader but the also the loading time) and i used to sample in realtime most of my staff...keep in mind only 8-16bit at 44.1KHz are recognized...

ok korakios, thanx for your disponibility man!
i was just wondering why on the manual is talking about folders too...it's on page 85...
i'm preparing a live show (still 2 months) and it could be useful to have folders with every samples inside...

You are right:
"To copy the desired files or folders, drag and drop them between a drive on your computer and the
memory card drive shown in step 5."
But it never worked for me...
In live situation i never used more than 20 banks...are you planning to use more than 32?!!
also check page 68 regarding the loading time and keep in mind that although it says that 200 files can be recognized it is limited to 100 files..

it's weird folders don't work...
anyway i don't think i will use more than 10 or 15 banks...
i was just thinkin at the way mpc works...
weird too the fact that is written 200 files and in reality it recognize only 100...
Re: Files+Folders: how to organize that...
It's really sad that Roland didn't support 606...with few tweeks like chromatic pitch, saving effect status, manual chop and a 606 editor for loading-converting files via usb could be a killer...maybe on 607,for now i am waiting a korg microsampler...!
