an mpc2kxl would be a downgrade from the 1k? i was worried about floppies compared to the usb on the 1k but now i am realizing that you could get a floppy to usb connection. might try to craigslist trade. whatayall think?

a 2kxl is a dope str8 forward machine... the amount of menu diving is mad small and its really reliable... space wise its huge compared to a 1k... and unless you have delt with floppies before saving can be cumbersome if u try to do alot of sampling w/o utilizing old school methods. i have a zip drive on mines and it isnt as bad but can be long if i dont dump samples that i will not use... but u can up the drives to a cf drive for about 60 through scsiforsamplers

2KXL Murders 1000!!!! I am not a fan of MPC's and sold my 2KXL. But if someone said I had to buy an MPC and use it for the rest of my life or they will kill me, I would pick the 2KXL. Less bells and whistles, but it has a more simple and intuitive workflow.
