Setting Gate/Loop/Reverse before sampling

I hope this question wasn't asked before...If it did so I would thank anyone who can point me to the post.
One of the reasons that I have this AWSOME sampler is to sample myself (vocals etc..) live.I was wondering if I can set the Gate/Loop/Reverse options before sampling, and while I'm at it - make the sample start right away (as soon as I stop recording - make it start in loop + reverse for example).

i don't think so, it'll be on loop and gate standard, but reverse you have to set after sampling.

nah you can't..

they really need a middle machine, halfway between the KP3 & the 404.. more live than the 404, but more sampley than the kp3

No you can't start looping a sample immediately after it finishes recording. You can't live loop on the 404. if you have a Mac, there is a free awesome live looping program called sooperlooper:

Oh yes also there is the Electroharmonix 2880 live looper pedal. It can do some amazing things, uses CF cards. Been drooling over one for a while, could be an amazing complement to the 404. A 404+KP3+2880 would be tits.

they just needa hurry up and make a kp4 with like 8 loop slots, ability to trigger the loops from different positions (like a rex file) rather than just cut slices out of the loop, shortening it.

Octatrack is kinda.. specific.. if you wanna do somethings itll be great, but it cant do everythin (like run more than 8 tracks )

The website says you also get 8 midi tracks for sequencing external gear. So you could sequence an sp with it. You only get 8 tracks, but they are stereo tracks...besides that limitation what does it not do?

well its a very specific sequencing type.. I love it, but some people arent into that kinda thing.. it depends alot on how you like to work

What kind of sequencing does it do? Step sequencing? I assume it is similar to the monomachine...which I have never used so I don't know.
