Been Looking for an Analog Synth

but cant find any decent priced ones anywhere. looking towards a korg poly 61, monopoly, trident. or somethin roland like an sh101, juno series. anyone selling or got any tips?

it depends on what sounds you're searchin for;
any synth with a cool LFO and Filters is good;
juno 106 is very cool, but is mostly instant-boards of canada, you have to work (not that much indeed) to find other sounds
mikrokorg is a good synth for its price and its capability
the korg poly series too...
are you looking for a mono or a poly?
the sh101 is a very good mono it seems....

Also look for Roland JX-8P (or JX-3P). They should go for like 200-300 EUR. The synth itself is underrated just because it doesn't have hands on controls.
It needs separate programmer PG800 that cost as much as synth itself though you can hook up cheap Behringer BCR2000 controller and you have all parameters controls. I have one and it sounds nice, warm and analogue though it looks digital.
If you need analogue bass synth there is a 1U rack synth: MAM MB33
and they go for like 100-150 dolleuros.
Prices are insane and it seems they are not going down.

it really depends on what you plan on doing with it and how much you want to pay. for example, if you're planning on playing chords, you need a mono synth. You also have the option of whether you want virtual analog or real analog. virtual is cheaper but is not as fat sounding as analog. At the same time, though, if you want real analog, vintage gear is often unstable and can break down *A LOT*.

For the record, I own a microkorg and like it (nice sounds), but the interface is a bit like programming with chopsticks.

if you're looking for control and flexibility, perhaps an ms2000 or jp-8000 may be an option.

you wont find any cheap classic analog synths.. some of the new ones are great though (mopho, dark energy, etc)

a microwave? ...pretty much the opposite of analog.. i mean, it can cover more sound types than almost anything.. but very digital.. I mean I think waldorf is great.. maybe a blofeld though? they can be had for less than $500 now and can do all the microwave's chores + virtual analog (the PPG filter emulation is PHATTTT).. only problem is it has less knobs and only 1 stereo/2 mono output.

Check out DSI stuff. Really good quality stuff and wont kill your budget too badly.
The mopho kb is dope. It's mono though, but if you want more voices you can geta tetra and polychain it or get a prophet 08.

There is moog stuff too. They just released a desktop version of the little phatty. The LP sounds real nice too, but you might get turned off due it's minimal functions.

But if you want vintage stuff, my friend has a sh 101, and it sounds reallllll nice. And with vintage stuff, there are a few EM forums where people talk about synths, sometimes people sell their gear on them. But other than that, ebay seems to be the only place to really buy them. Craigslist if you're lucky.

Heard some good things about the poly 61. Just make sure to try out all the keys first. The key contacts can go bad, I know this because my prophet 600 has the exact same key contact mechanism.
