Where does a Hip-Hop head go when he/she visits NYC

Going to New York for Halloween weekend. Just wanted to know if there's Must-do's for a Hip-Hop guy like myself... Dope graf locations, good Hip-Hop shops, Best burger in NY? lol share what u know

hit up the village, you'll find some heads down there that ill give you the ill info, and while your down there i know 8th street (and something) has a record shop. better get your goggle on.

I would've told you Fat Beats record store in Brooklyn, if it (and the one in LA) hadn't closed down, probably due to this damn internets. Don't know if you'll be able to get out that way-- but another spot in BK is a MUST for diggers-- a record shop called "The Thing". It's insane. And speaking of seinfeld references, you gotta try Ray's pizza. ORIGINAL Rays.

Yeah ride the free ferry to shaolin! Great boat ride and even if you get right back on to go back to manhattan you're still about as close as you'd want to get to the stapleton projects.

Even though I love living in Staten Island its not all hip hop all the time. Even the original wu wear store down the street is a falafel joint now.

I think there's some hip hop tour that takes you through the bronx and other boroughs. I saw it on The Bridge once.

I know Grandmaster Caz does a hip hop tour, might be what you're talking about. The nexus of the universe,lol..they're all over NY..what was it on the show, 1st and 1st or some shit? I could actually laugh at Kramer back then.

Yah I might not want to do any Nexus travelling but we'll see lol. Might do the touristy Manhattan thing one day - maybe Brooklyn the next. I did wanna try Toms restaurant and have a conversation about Ovaltine tho.

hahaha, kramer's still funny man, rza gave em a pass, in the new season of curb he was hysterical, they fully played off of the incident with him in the night club, but as for the city, there are a ton of things to do, but if your down around the village, head down st marks and between between 2nd and 3rd there's this burger joint called marks burger, they do sliders and the illest fries, beer and shakes, its real cheap for bein in the city (2 dolllar sliders) and amazingly delicious, my homie is one of the main dudes on the grill and the atmosphere is real lax, plus they share outside space with a record store, dude always has plenty of stuff out on the street to dig through and inside has even more, alot of real expensive rare stuff, african funk, krautrock, crazy prog, all the rare expensive shit, plus the plenty of jazz and soul and rock too, usually has a dollar bin to poke through, maybe not the best place to dig in the city but its pretty good, its a cool area, the burgers are so dope, and there are def a few other records spots in pretty close proximity, here's the place to check for good diggin spots while your in town http://www.discogs.com/groups/topic/86816, my homie wants me to roll down for a party he's havin but i don't think i'm makin it down, if i do though i'll definitely shout you out and we'll ill out

Yeah man I'm real excited, I'm hoping to be blown away by New York's massiveness. Toronto is a big city too, but from what I see and hear it just doesn't even compare. Only there for a couple days tho so I gotta maximize my time!

I almost ended up booking a room in Hotel Carter at Times Square till I realized it was ranked worst Hotel in America 4 years in a row (the website was misleading) haha damnn

i dont really know if nyc got a beatscene. maybe this one spot saturn never sleeps and illmind throws a beatshowcase called blaps. other than that it wasnt what i expected.

hop on a train and go to newark for raw form at the armory tavern on sussex ave. . .its every sunday starting around 5 and is the realest hip hop bar/ venue u will ever go to. . .open mic cyphers with extremely talented MC's with dope as dj's on the beats. . .tame one usually hangs out there too and mite spit if hes not too dusted. . .
