you running on batteries? 'Lo' means low battery...

If that didn't worked I propose that it's the card so
does this happen while sampling on the internal banks and the card banks?
I guess not... Generally speaking those bugs are mainly card related, so try to format the card/get a new one...

Lo must be batterie though... (or Lo Eq/Isolator)

welcome a board btw. ...

Hi mate,

pretty sure that's "lo" batteries, mine has done this several times before and batteries have been the casue. a good idea to regualr check the remaining power when one batteries to avoid it stoppin your flow.

LO means acute low batteries... there should be a warning ahead of that with some blinking lights (i think the dots on the screen)... this is on the 404(sx), i'm not sure if the original 404 is different here.

welcome to the forums, i'm pretty new myself. :D

thank you for all replies.
the problem is that i do not work on batteries but on 9V ac adapter (non-Roland one - maybe that is the reason?).
as the wax inspektor said, probably card is the main reason.
"Lo" "attacks me" mainly on card banks but sometimes stops my sampler on internal banks...
few days ago i made a card format and everything was fine for few minutes maybe.
probably i'll try to buy a new card.

so if it happens on the internal banks also I hardly believe that it's the card...
(does it happen on internal banks while NO card is in the machine, too?)

try to format the card anyway (cancel+remain, bank, del ) and also try to use batteries, so you know if your ac adapter works ok...

somehow the 404 takes 12V from the wall adapter but only 9V from batteries...

Um, my Roland supplied AC says 9volt, 2amp. It's regulated DC.
I don't suppose it really needs as much as 2amps current - can't imagine an AA battery cell giving 2amps for long!. But it does meed a well regulated supply and some adapters will only have rectified DC - they're for stuff that either doesn't care or has regulators of it's own in the box - the 404 definitely needs regulated power.

Formatting a card if the power supply isn't up to it will destroy the card!
Updating the o/s with a bad supply will destroy the 404!

Be careful out there :)

Jim
