Good day, town folk! I use garage band on my laptop to record and sequence tracks. Are there any other mac users that use another program. I'm looking for something to get a warmer sound. I know it all starts in the sampler, but I'm looking to try something new. Thanks in advance!

P.S. "Flavors" by Bahwee is friggin dope! Cop it!!!!

hey man, ive used my 404sx with garageband for alot of my stuff, the warmer sound issue doesnt really come from which software you use but how you use it, i would suggest downloading a VST effect plugin i use in garageband called "Camel Crusher" - its basically a bitcrusher and compressor in one, you can throw that on your beat and it will dirty the shit outta your beat, just try experimenting with EQ and Compression settings within garageband also, its a unique powerful piece of software without all the other bells and whistles that alot of other ones do have, if you have anymore questions feel free to PM if you want, hope this helps man....oh yea Camel Crusher is a free download!!!!

Thanks, man! I just downloaded the camel crusher. I'm gonna give it a try and see what it does. Are there any additional plugins that you might suggest? Thanks again! :D

Ableton Live or Reason can do the trick. Just mess around with distortion saturation compression etc. And use Vinyl Sim!

I downloaded Camel Crusher and placed the plugin in the vst folder in the audio folder which is all in my computer library folder. I opened garageband and clicked the detail option and I didn't see the camel crusher icon. Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know. Thanks Kel! I'm glad you dig the tape. I'm working on a beat CD which hopefully will be out next month. Thanks for all the feedback!

BTW, I'm using version 3.0.4, if that means anything.
