I'd have to probably say Dimlite or Afta1, those 2 dudes make music that can't even begin to describe, they are heavily underrated and I never hear anyone ever talk about them, as for a mainstream level I would probably go with Havoc from Mobb Deep, he really in my opinion defined that grimy Queens sound!!!!!

Dimlite is indeed very overlooked, and underrated when compared to FlyLo or Samiyam. I think he's one of the best "musicians" in the abstract hip-hop scene, though, which he shows throughout his music with both his rhythmic and melodic technique and progression throughout a track.
Or maybe this is just me being biased because he's swiss

i'm gonna go with Jax/Binkis Recs... (RIP)
but there are a lot of producers who are dope who just don't care about being commercial, so their music is underrated and flies under the radar. The point is not that they're underrated, they're under-enjoyed.

True story! Dalek himself & Josh Booth also do a good job of making all that noise too, but that mob's got a pretty weird production set up seeing they've pretty much absorbed Destructo Swarmbots for studio work. Kinda hard to who does what now. Still, that remix Oktapus did for Isis still slays me years after the fact...

BUT the king of the lazy flip goes to Puffy. Nobody does the blatant 8 bar cut'n'paste like old mate P Dickhead.

Word. Beatminerz basically defined that raw NYC sound, pre Wu-Tang, pre Mobb Deep. And you can't talk about filtered bass lines without them. Dope.
