Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
So are there any iPad users on here? I run mine through the 303 and really like it. Anyways, I downloaded a lot of apps and wasted a lot of money. Thought it would be good for people to post which apps the recommend and which ones they wish they had passed on.
Dope:

iPad:
iElectribe - very nice.
Looptastic - so, so
Groove Maker - could be cool, but can't import your own loops
iPhone/Touch:
Technobox - really nice, but wish it were on the iPad
Rebirth - could be cool, but very hard to work with on the small screen
iDrum - very cool, intuitive for making drum patterns and beats
Noise.io - cool, but haven't used it much...

On the Nintendo DS side of things...
NitroTracker... awesome homebrew tracker software, can load samples from your cart, or you can record your own using the mic. 16 tracks, can load as many samples as the DSs RAM will allow. Panning, ADSR envelopes.

Rytmik... from the DSiWare Shop, 4 tracks per pattern, 4 patterns per measure, so basically 16 track sequencer using inbuilt samples. Has a delay effect. Panning, but no ADSR, and the samples are all basically one-shot, no length.

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
if you don't have Iphone but Android, there's Electrum drum machine... it's quite fun, i was messing w/ it for a while before i got my sp. Basically it's a step sequencer which can record/load samples, you can set truncation marks etc. And you can resequence to make whole songs. If you load in samples with some air in front, you can control swing the same way as on the sp. It's like a mini MPC.
I should mess with it again using the skills i gained on the 303/404. costs like 4 dollars.

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
Hiya - So I am from the company that makes Looptastic/ Obvioulsy I think that is cool for the audio loops and effects kind of stuff. Also I like nano studio alot, Morphwhiz, studio.HD (our new multitrack thing), ReBirth and minisynth (but not for drums much).
Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
i like noise.io. however noise.io is really hard to program for me.
dope;
nlogsynth
argon
voice keyboard
bebot (my personal fav).
bassline
db-303
funkbox
technobox
speakEZ
beatmaker
i won't say wack to any of it bc its super cheap and nice for just about any of it but i downloaded yet never use;
minisynth
megasynth
tonepad
euphonics
randgrid (way to tedious)
hammerhead
bleep player
i really want nanostudio. i would like the beatmaker 2 but it will be too heavy for my 2g ipod when its realesed

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
im sittin here in the app store lookin at all the cool shit they got, man o man are they doing some cool shit. i mean, we dont have flying cars yet but the future is here. you dont even need hardware anymore. once they figure out how to run multiple apps at the same time and be able to record sounds from one to another, you could get a multitracking app and rock a sampler to it. be nice if they make a sp app like the korg electribe. i just grabbed that flare scratch and its sounds just like a fuckin turntable. and the nanostudio was a must have. im just lookin for some sort of good programmable synth i can rock for days.
Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
With OS4 you can now have apps running in the backgroud. Also you can transfer files between appz with audio copy and paste. You can hold 12 files in your clipboard and use them in appz that support this.
For good synths with lots of options you want either Nlog or Argon. Both are good. Also Jasuto for experimental stuff.
As always Nanostudio is a ridiculously good synth that just got a big update today.

Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.
man the nano studio is the shiznit! now i have something( that isnt my laptop) i can use to just play my sample library when i wanna get em into my sp808. like i got the 500 breaks from here and those big ass packs from hurling and im always opening up fruityloops to play em quickly and find good kicks and snares. since fruityloops is open im like ocd and i always end up rocking a beat in it and forgetting about the sp. ive uploaded like 2 gigs of samples to my itouch and its still rockin hard. and nano studio has that sample editor so i can chop breaks quick and clean like i like to. this thing is a beast. and i got a shitload of samples ive collected over the years in my library from records n shit, shit i never use. now its on!!! i highly recommend it to anyone who has a iphone or itouch, grab it quick before the price goes up from 9 bucks. your basically getting a sp and a synth for 9 bucks, with effects and mixing and more than one track sequencer (roland are such assholes for that shit).
