Stereo Condenser mics -> RCA

So I'm going to try doing some stereo field recording with my 404sx and some condenser mics. I'm buying this 2 channel battery powered phantom power dealie:

And two xlr to RCA adapter cables. My question is has anyone ever recorded into the RCAs with a condenser mic and do I need a mic pre?
